Purpose and Activities

Giving primarily to see to the interests of social welfare, of facilities for the recreation and leisure time occupation of the inhabitants of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with the object of improving their conditions of life; funding also for the advancement of the education of young people in the area of benefit, the field of voluntary service, and for the advancement of public education in the arts, literature, and science .


Established in 1977 - Founded in the name of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, by Christopher Aston, the first mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, who served from 1974-1976. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is the longest-serving consort and the oldest serving spouse of a reigning British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II
