Purpose and Activities

The foundation works as a catalyst for redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, by building a neighborhood comprised of safe and healthy homes with an emphasis on a high quality of design and preservation of the spirit of the community's culture.


Established in 2007 in DE - Founded by Brad Pitt, an actor who has starred in the films "A River Runs Through It," "Seven," "Fight Club," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," "Troy," "Inglorious Bastards," the Ocean's trilogy, and "World War Z." Pitt won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "Twelve Monkeys" and is a four-time Academy Award nominee, which include nominations for his performances in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and "Moneyball." Pitt is also an active humanitarian, who in response to Hurricane Katrina helped to finance and construct new houses in New Orleans's Ninth Ward.
