The foundation is interested in youth-powered food justice as it relates to children and youth living in the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island, New York. The foundation funds programs that: enable young people ages 6 to 18 to learn about healthy eating and food systems, and to take action to increase access to affordable fresh foods in their own neighborhoods; provide children and youth with ongoing opportunities to build their confidence and self-esteem, citizenship skills and leadership abilities; and are sponsored by neighborhood and community-based organizations (rather than schools).
