Support for individual theatrical lyricists and librettists.


Established in 1988 in NY - Founded by the late Edward L. "Ed" Kleban, who was a musical theater composer and lyricist. Kleban wrote the lyrics for the Broadway hit "A Chorus Line," for which he and composer the late Marvin Hamlisch won the 1976 Tony Award for Best Original Score. Along with the music and lyrics of various musical theater artists, Kleban's lyrics too, were featured in the 1979 Broadway musical "The Madwoman of Central Park West." "A Class Act," a musical based on Kleban's life was presented on Broadway in 2001.
