Purpose and Activities

The foundation’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education in Central Texas. It focuses strictly on academic education. The foundation funds educational programs across the age spectrum from pre-kindergarten through adult. Its program interests include early and family literacy, college access, GED certification, academically rigorous out-of-school-time programs, traditional pre-K-12 education, and postsecondary education. It also supports workforce development programs that are academically rigorous, allow individuals to obtain college credit, and open doors for them to acquire living-wage jobs. In addition, KDK-Harman will favor those programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
