Purpose and Activities

The foundation's mission is to improve the well-being of residents of Yates and Monroe Counties, NY, and of the City of Rochester, in particular. A central concern is disadvantaged children and families, and the neighborhoods in which they live. The foundation believes that it can best serve those in need by granting time-limited support to nonprofit organizations with programs or projects that provide access to health care, attend to the needs of young children and senior citizens or help families develop economic security. The foundation also looks for programs that: give people the tools they need to help themselves; encourage collaboration among agencies and between individuals and agencies; have measurable outcomes; make long-term commitments to specific neighborhoods.

Established in 1968 in NY - Founded in 1968 by Daisy Marquis Jones and her nephew, Leo Marquis Lyons. Daisy Marquis Jones was a businesswoman who operated Bellview Farms Dairy in Himrod, NY, with her husband, Nelson Jones
