Established in 1992 in NY - Founded by John Irving, a novelist and screenwriter. Among his many novels are "The Hotel New Hampshire," "The Cider House Rules" and "A Prayer for Owen Meany." In 1979, his novel "The World According to Garp" became an international bestseller, was a finalist for the American Book Award and won the National Book Foundation's award for paperback fiction in 1980. It was later made into a film and garnered several Academy Award nominations. In 1999, he won the Academy Award for the Best Adapted Screenplay for "The Cider House Rules."
