Purpose and Activities

The mission of the Truman Heartland Community Foundation is to improve area communities by promoting and serving private giving for the public good. The foundation primarily provides support for arts, culture, and historic preservation, building stronger neighborhoods, education, fostering a sense of community spirit, health needs for the community, leadership development for youth and adults, programs for seniors, positive youth development, transportation and violence prevention .


Incorporated in 1982 in MO; received assets converted from merger of Independence Community Foundation with Independence Regional Health Center Foundation in 1994
