Purpose and Activities

The foundation funds innovative and promising diabetes research programs and projects that will lead to a cure for the disease, and alleviate complications caused by it, through supporting Brigham and Women's Hospital Inc., Fidelity Gift Fund, Joslin Diabetes Center Inc., Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Massachusetts General Hospital, MyCFO Foundation, and the University of Massachusetts Foundation Inc.


Founded by Lido A. "Lee" Iacocca who was president of Ford Motor Company from 1964 to 1978. Then, as president, C.E.O., and chairman of auto manufacturer of Chrysler, he introduced the concept of the minivan to the American public, and helped to bring Chrysler out of bankruptcy in the early 1980s. He is also the author of the 1984 and 1985 bestselling book "Iacocca: an Autobiography"
