Established in 1998 in NM - Founded in the name of the late Allan Houser, a modernist sculptor and painter. He was the first Native American to receive the National Medal of Arts, and created works based upon Native American themes, including "Abstract Crown Dancer I," "As Long As the Waters Flow" and "Sacred Rain."
