Established in NY - Founded by Peter Max, an artist known for his psychedelic artwork also called "Cosmic 60's." He became a household name following his success with a line of art clocks for General Electric which led to his artwork being licensed by 72 corporations. He has since received many important commissions including the creation of the first "Preserve the Environment" postage stamp honoring the World's Fair in Spokane, Washington; Border murals at entry points to Canada and a painting of each of the 50 states which can be found in a book titled "Peter Max Paints America." Mr. Max has painted for President Ford, President Carter, President Reagan, President Bush, and President Clinton. In 2002 Max was in the news when he rescued Cinci Freedom, a cow that escaped from an Ohio slaughterhouse, and donated $180,000 worth of his art to benefit the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, to ensure her a long life of peace at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, New York
