Purpose and Activities

As a complement to its foundation, Genentech also makes charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations directly. Special emphasis is directed toward programs designed to promote health science education, patient education and advocacy, and community development. Support is given primarily in Oceanside, South San Francisco and Vacaville, California, Lexington, Kentucky, and Hillsboro, Oregon, and on a national basis for health and science.
