Purpose and Activities

Mission: To promote the holistic management of preserved lands through grants to organizations focused mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Vision: Sustainable, working landscapes where conservation is balanced with preservation. Goals: 1) Increase the number of current farmers who have access to micro funding for educational opportunities. To achieve this goal, Gamble Foundation may provide grants to subsidize educational costs. 2) Strengthen support (the safety net) for the next generation of farmers and ranchers so that they are able to successfully make a living while managing land in a sustainable way. 3) Increase the number of successful partnerships between landowners and environmentalists thereby increasing the use of a holistic approach to management practices on publicly protected lands.
