Purpose and Activities

The organization seeks to improve the lives of low-income and at-risk youth in metropolitan Atlanta by providing programs that enhance children's social and intellectual development while improving self-esteem, character, academic performance, and physical well-being.


Established in 2001 - Founded by former professional basketball player Julius "Shareef" Abdur-Rahim. Mr. Abdur-Rahim was a forward for the Vancouver Grizzlies (1996-2001), Atlanta Hawks (2001-2004), Portland Trail Blazers (2004-2005) and Sacramento Kings (2005-2008). In 2000, as a member of the U.S. men's national basketball team, he won a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics; in 2002, he was named to the NBA All-Star team
