Established in 1963 - The foundation was established in 1963 by Vasco Maria Eugénio de Almeida, a philanthropist working in the cultural, educational, social and religious field. Up until 1975, the foundation's activities were focused on establishing Évora's Higher Institute of Economics and Social Studies (ISESE), and backing the construction of the Oratory of São José, as well as the maintenance of the Convent of Cartuxa. By consolidating its endowment, the foundation continues its work today, acting as a hub-like element converging and combining efforts to develop the region. Inspired by the Christian spirit instilled by its founder, the foundation adapts its work to confront the challenges presented by a world in constant transformation
