Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the organization is to promote racial equity in Brazil, with an emphasis on social articulation, education, economic development, resource mobilization, and empowerment of black women.


Established in 2008 - This organization was formed in 2008 by a $ 25 million dollar endowment from the Kellogg Foundation. The Kellogg Foundation wanted to turn over its philanthropic work in racial equality to a local organization in Brazil as a part of its exit strategy.
