Purpose and Activities

Funding only for the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships, which is a fellowship program providing foreign print journalists working experience in the U.S.; main purposes of the program are to enable the Fellow to gain an understanding of the significance of the free press in American society and to foster continuing working ties between free institutions and journalists in the U.S. and other countries, particularly developing countries. Applicants must be English-speaking, mid-career journalists employed at independent, non-U.S. publications in the developing world.
