The foundation exists to advance philanthropy by serving donors, increasing charitable giving, and improving communities.


Established in NC, US; Since 1958, Foundation For The Carolinas has served as a catalyst for charitable good, connecting individuals, companies and organizations to needs and philanthropic opportunities across the region and beyond. Beginning with a $3,000 seed grant from its local United Way, FFTC is now one of the largest community foundations in the South and among the top 10 in America. Since inception, FFTC has made grants totaling nearly $2 billion and currently manages more than $1.8 billion in charitable assets across 2,400 charitable funds Foundation For The Carolinas strengthens the 13-county region it serves by advancing philanthropy, leading transformative civic initiatives, and fostering the sustainability of its nonprofit community through grantmaking and endowment management. FFTC also offers a broad array of innovative giving and fund solutions for donors and constituents, who partner with FFTC to maximize the impact of their charitable endeavors, and to support its community leadership efforts.
