Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the foundation seeks to promote local Salerno economic development and the growth of human and social capital by focusing on environmental and cultural heritage, job training and education, scientific research, and social welfare in Italy.


Established in 1992 in Italy - The foundation was founded following the approval of the Amato Act, which sanctioned the privatization of Italian public banks. The name originated from Princess Sichelgaita, the daughter of the last Longobard ruler of Salerno and the wife of the first Norman ruler.
