The foundation is committed to the improvement of the lives of children living in underserved communities in Washington, DC. Its current focus is out-of-school programs that provide academic support and/or enrichment during after-school and summer hours. The foundation is currently focused on supporting programs that serve DC youth as they transition from elementary through middle school to high school. In addition, the foundation supports the Jewish community in the following areas: 1) to promote engagement by the Jewish community in Tikkum Olam through improving the situation of underserved populations and people in crisis; 2) to enhance the democratic nature of Israel by promoting economic empowerment and civil rights for all Israelis; 3) to encourage Jews to become active in Jewish culture, synagogue life, and the Jewish community; 4) to combat anti-Semitism by promoting a positive view of Jews and of Israel through education and dialogue; 5) to build coalitions with non-Jews on areas of common concern and to improve intergroup relations; and 6) to participate in the local Jewish community by supporting local organizations which are valued by trustees of the foundation. In Israel, grants are focused on enhancing the democratic nature of Israel by promoting economic empowerment, civil right, religious diversity, and peaceful coexistence between Jews and Arabs.
