Established in 1974 in CA - Founded in the name of Walt Disney by his wife Lilly. Walt Disney was the co-founder of Walt Disney Productions (now known as The Walt Disney Company) with his brother Roy O. Disney. Walt was a film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer and international icon. He is famous for being an innovator in animation and as the designer of the theme park Disneyland. He helped create a number of the world's most famous fictional characters, including Mickey Mouse. He won twenty-six Academy Awards, including a Honory Award for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1939 and one for Best Short Subject for "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" in 1969.
