Purpose and Activities

The foundation exists solely to underwrite the costs of equipment and special programs and services that benefit the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and its patients, which is part of Memorial Healthcare System.


Established in 1994 in FL - Founded by the late Joe DiMaggio, a former baseball player. Nicknamed "The Yankee Clipper," DiMaggio is considered one of the greatest players in baseball history. Among his baseball accomplishments were 13 All-Star selections, and three Most Valuable Player Awards. DiMaggio, once married to Marilyn Monroe, is most well known for his record 56-game hitting streak in 1941. In 1955, DiMaggio was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame
