Trust established in 1947 in TX - Mr. Cullen made his fortune in the oil industry during the 1920s; the trust was created from a portion of his oil and gas property, with an estimated future net revenue of $160 million. Mr. and Mrs. Cullen were largely responsible for the growth of the University of Houston and were also known for their major contributions toward health and education in Texas Most of the foundation's officers and trustees are related to the donors. Their grandson, Roy H. Cullen, currently serves as president of the foundation. Isaac Arnold, Jr. and Wilhelmina E. Robertson are the donors' grandchildren In 1979, the foundation established three trusts: the Cullen Trust for Higher Education, the Cullen Trust for Health Care, and the Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts. Classified by the IRS as a public charity, each of the trusts has its own board of directors and supports a specific area of charity (higher education, health care, and performing arts) in Texas
