Created to aid evangelical Christianity by support to organizations having for their purposes its teaching, advancement, and active extension at home and abroad.


Trust established in 1927 in IL - Founded by the late Henry P. Crowell, founder and former chairman of the board of Quaker Oats Co. and the Henry P. Crowell Benevolence and Education Trust. A resident of Winnetka, IL and Augusta, GA, Crowell served as president of the board of Moody Bible Institute from 1902 until his death in 1944. The founder's son, the late Henry Coleman Crowell, was a trustee and an executive vice-president of Moody Bible Institute and was president of Missionary Equipment Service in Chicago.
