Purpose and Activities

The mission of the foundation is to energize and engage students in science and technology through unique entrepreneurial opportunities, and to offer bold platforms that encourage students to explore entrepreneurship and design innovative solutions to important issues in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Established in 2008 in CA - Founded in the name of the late Charles "Pete" Conrad, to honor his history of innovation and entrepreneurship. Conrad's accomplishments spanned the entire history of manned space flight. The foundation seeks to continue his legacy through the foundation's rich programs that combine education and entrepreneurship in a revolutionary model of incentivized competition. In 2007, sharing the belief that innovation is driven by competition, Nancy Conrad partnered with the X PRIZE Foundation to create the Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Award. This award reflected Pete Conrad's dream to mobilize the next generation of entrepreneurs. In 2008, this award was expanded out of the X PRIZE Foundation to become the Conrad Foundation, a separate not-for-profit organization
