Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the trust is to provide grants for improvement projects beneficial to the Southland community in New Zealand.


Established in 1988 - The Community Trust of Southland was established in 1988 to hold, on behalf of the community, ownership of Trust Bank Southland. In 1996 the Trust sold its shareholding in Trust Bank to Westpac for $158 million, forming the basis of the global investment fund that the Trust now administers.
