Purpose and Activities

Giving primarily to support programs that help to change individual lives, by expanding opportunities for disadvantaged youth and vulnerable families to develop and make full use of their potential, so that they will be able to pursue their highest ambitions, earn decent livings, enjoy healthy relationships, and fully participate in their communities. The foundation favors programs that: 1) are holistic, making a commitment to each individual to provide all the services that a client needs to become successful, as long as that client works hard to help himself; 2) set high goals for their clients, relative to the degree of difficulties that clients have to overcome, and the level of potential that they have to improve their lives; 3) use multiple measures to assess their clients’ situations, upon both entry and exit, in order to identify multiple needs and to demonstrate different aspects of improvement; and 4) follow through and ensure the lasting impact of their programs, by tracking and assisting their clients’ for a year or more after they graduate from the main program.
