Established in 1989 in MD and DE; funded in 1990 - Founded by William Henry "Bill" Cosby, Jr. and his wife Camille Olivia Cosby. Bill Cosby is a comedian, actor, author, television producer, musician and activist. He had the starring role in the 1960s action show, "I Spy," for which he won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. In the 1970s, he appeared in such films as "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again," while he created the educational cartoon series "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids." During the 1980s, he produced and starred in "The Cosby Show," which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1985 and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series in 1984. He also produced the sitcom, "A Different World," which became second to "The Cosby Show" in ratings. In 2003, Mr. Cosby was awarded the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his contributions to television.
