The foundation supports organizations involved with education, at-risk children and youth, and youth mentoring.


Incorporated in 1959 in MN, originally as The Curtis L. Carlson Foundation - Founded by the late Curtis L. Carlson, an entrepreneur who founded the Gold Bond Stamp Company (now named Carlson) that helped revolutionize the way retail goods were marketed. He also purchased and made Radisson Hotel and TGI Fridays into national chains. He is a recipient of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences Linnean Medal and the Horatio Alger Award
