The fund is dedicated to advancing cancer research and encouraging the nation's most promising young investigators to pursue careers in cancer research.


Established in 1947 in NY - Founded in the name of the late Damon Runyon by the late Walter Winchell, who was a newspaper and radio commentator. Runyon was a noted author/playwright, best known for his short stories detailing Broadway in New York City during the Prohibition era. Winchell was notably known for inventing the gossip column.
