To promote the scholastic development of children and youth by improving elementary and secondary education through its support of charter and parochial schools.


Trust established in 1951 in NY - Mr. Calder was born in Manhattan in 1879. At the age of 17, he began a 66-year career at Perkins-Goodwin Co., which specialized in marketing and management in the pulp and paper business. He became president and chairman of the company in 1922 and remained in that capacity until his death in 1963. The foundation was funded by gifts from Mr. Calder during his lifetime and was left a residuary bequest in his will
