Purpose and Activities

The foundation is dedicated to the support of AIDS research, AIDS prevention, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.


Incorporated in 1989 in NY - Founded by Mathilde Krim, Ph.D. and the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor. Ms. Krim received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2000 for her work promoting AIDS research. Ms. Taylor starred in such films as "Father of the Bride" (1950), "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958), "Butterfield 8" (1960), "Cleopatra" (1963), and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), and won Academy Awards for her work in 1960 and 1966
