Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the foundation is to provide health care and medical training to Cambodians and to enhance the educational opportunities for Cambodian children with the construction of rural schools and educational training .


Established in 1993 - Founded by Bernie Krisher, a journalist and former head of the Newsweek and Fortune Tokyo bureaus. After reporting on Asia for many years, he returned to Cambodia to found The Cambodia Daily, Cambodia's first English language daily newspaper, which is still published today. The newspaper is an independent entity that neither solicits nor accepts funding. Mr. Krisher also established media-related projects such as journalism training and a media library
