Purpose and Activities

The organization exists to combat global warming by educating people about the link between human activity and climate change, in hopes of motivating people to take action and to lead greener lives.


Established in 2005 in DC - Founded by Nobel laureate and former Vice President of the United States Albert Arnold "Al" Gore. Mr. Gore served as Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, and was the Democratic candidate for President of the United States in 2001. In 2007, for his ongoing work promoting awareness of climate change, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He also starred in the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2007
