Our Mission: To provide strategic support for local initiatives that strengthen peoples economic security, connect them with job opportunities and foster infrastructure development. Our supported initiatives can be scaled nationwide to benefit disadvantaged communities. Founded in 2017 by Rick Jacobs with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Accelerator for America seeks to scale and replicate local solutions to economic insecurity across the country. We support initiatives that connect people with existing jobs, create new opportunities and foster infrastructure development. We are led by an Advisory Council consisting of mayors and leaders from the labor, business and non-profit sectors. Currently, our work is conducted in two specific verticals: Transit & Infrastructure and Economic Development. We are the R&D arm of cities and mayors. We are a do tank, not a think tank.
