Our Mission: To transform Indigenous education by engaging communities, building networked schools of academic excellence and cultural relevance, and serving Native American students from early learning to adulthood so that they are secure in their identity, healthy, and holistically prepared as lifelong learners and leaders in their communities.
NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN)'s impact strategy is to be the first school incubator and network of high-performing schools dedicated solely to Native American/Indigenous education, eventually reaching to high-need Native communities across the western United States. Through the schools in its network, NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) seeks to reimagine what Indigenous education and the school experience can be for Native students by creating schools of academic excellence and cultural relevance
We are working to develop a network of schools providing rigorous academic curriculum aimed at college preparation while promoting Native American culture, identity, and community investment. The project will include fellowships, leadership training, technical assistance, and ongoing support in establishing schools - with the effort culminating in 10 NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) schools, based on the Native American Community Academy (NACA) community led-design model.
NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) is a proud member of the AmeriCorps national service network.
