Purpose and Activities

The purpose of the foundation is to promote research in the areas of science, theology, philosophy and human society, across academic disciplines and the globe, especially focusing on the following areas: big questions, individual freedom and free markets, genius, genetics, voluntary family planning, and character virtue development.


Established in 1996 in the Bahamas - Founded by the late Sir John Marks Templeton, an investor who amassed millions in creating and trading on a global basis mutual funds through his Templeton Growth, Ltd. funds (now known as Franklin Templeton Investments).
