Purpose and Activities

Founded in 2014, the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles (the Fund) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving life for all Angelenos. Programs are selected on the basis of their ability to utilize public and private resources, demonstrate collaboration, seek innovative solutions, and yield measurable, transformational impact. Currently, the Fund raises dollars to support specific efforts focusing on veterans, seniors, undocumented persons, public safety, revitalization of the LA River, among other efforts. Audited financials not yet available as agency is in the midst of its inaugural fiscal year. Board Information: A Board of seven (including Fred Ali) has met four times so far this year. The Board is not expected to give personally, but instead, the group's role is to advise and guide the Fund as a start-up organization. One member has personally contributed $148,903 so far this year.
