Purpose and Activities

Giving primarily to the development of the communities of Alto San Jorge by a management model of high impact sustainable projects.

Fundación Cerro Matoso was established on October 28, 1981, as part of Cerro Matoso’s commitment to contribute to the development of the community and to leave a legacy for the region. The foundation’s structure and social projects are comprised of four areas of intervention: Economic Development, Education, Capacity Building, Health and Environment. The foundation serves in the municipalities and in the areas of influence of Cerro Matoso. These areas include the secluded Montelíbano, Puerto Libertador and San José de Uré, which make up the sub-Alto San Jorge, south of the department of Cordoba. The focus of the Foundation originated from the needs and expectations of the community to help improve their quality of life. The foundation’s efforts have been coordinated with local governments to contribute to the development of Alto San Jorge. Furthermore, the foundation has signed partnerships with national and international institutions to operate different projects.
