Search 990s Screen
There are seven search fields available on the Search 990s Screen. The first search field provides keyword searching capability. The remaining six search fields are tied to hidden indexes; they function much like other indexed search fields but lack the accessibility of the index.

A keyword (or text) search can be conducted either independently of or in conjunction with an index search. Simply type a word or phrase into the Keyword Search field to search for 990s containing that word or phrase.
Since the indexed search fields on the Search 990s Screen are tied to hidden indexes, you have to type directly into the search fields. The search fields available to you are listed below:
Used to search for 990s filed during a particular fiscal year.
Used to search for 990s by grantmaker name.
Used to search for 990s filed by grantmakers located in a particular city. Since some states have cities with identical names (Albany, New York, and Albany, Georgia, for example), include a Grantmaker State Code in your search to ensure accurate results.
Used to search for 990s filed by grantmakers located in a particular state. Typing a state's full name in this search field won't return any results; you have to type the state's postal code.
Used to search for 990s filed by grantmakers located in a particular ZIP code.
Used to search for 990s filed by a grantmaker with a particular Employer Identification Number (EIN).
