A database containing detailed profiles of approximately 10,000 of the largest U.S. foundations, that have the largest annual giving programs in the nation.
Up to 10 sample grants are included in nearly half of the foundation records

3. Q. How often is the data updated?

A. The data is updated on a bi-weekly basis.

4. Q. Is grants information included in the service?

A. Nearly half of the foundation records in The Foundation Directory Online include up to 10 selected sample grants. The Foundation Directory Online Plus, Premium, and Platinum include a separate searchable database of over 150,000 foundation grants.

5. Q. Is The Foundation Directory Online useful to International grantseekers?

A. Yes. The Geographic Focus Index includes both "International" and " National/International" search terms to identify foundations that have a stated interest in supporting projects overseas. The Fields of Interest index includes search terms for specific countries where foundations indicate funding interests.

6. Q. I am new to The Foundation Directory Online, and I am having trouble tailoring my search strategies. Can you walk me through how to find the funding I'm looking for?

A. There is a comprehensive Search Tutorial included in the Help file, which provides a number of sample searches that can help you develop effective search strategies. The Help file is available by clicking the Help Link available in the green menu box located in the upper-right corner of the Home screen and the search screens.
