Wildcard Searching
Use the wildcard characters to search for variations on words. The wildcard characters you use in a search are:
The asterisk (*)
The question mark (?)
Wildcards can be used in all search fields except for Foundation State.
Using the asterisk ( * )
The asterisk ( * ) wildcard finds words with variations on several letters at the end of a word.
1. Click in the Text Search field to place your cursor there.
2. Type art*.
3. Click Search. All records containing the words art, arts, artistic, etc are returned.
Using the question mark ( ? )
The question mark ( ? ) wildcard finds words with variations on a single letter anywhere in a word.
1. Click in the Text Search field to place your cursor there.
2. Type f?rm.
3. Click Search. This search statement will match form, farm, firm, etc.
