Technical Issues

1. What happens if I don't log out?

Your session remains active for one hour. After that time, you will be logged out automatically.

2. How do I update my personal information?

To update your personal information, including your e-mail address, click the Account link at the top of any page and enter your password at the prompt (unless you previously opted to forego the password prompt). Select Update Your User Profile, enter your password once again, and use the form to update your personal information. When finished, click the Update Information button.

3. How do I change my password?

To change your password, click the Account link at the top of any page and enter your current password at the prompt (unless you previously opted to forego the password prompt). Select Change Your Password, enter your current password once again, and use the form to enter your new password. When finished, click the Update Password button.

4. Is there a way to increase the text size?

Most browsers include tools to increase the text size of or zoom in on a page. For help, please refer to the documentation included with your browser.

5. Foundation Directory Online is not functioning properly and/or I am receiving error messages regarding "JavaScript." What should I do?

In order for FDO to work properly, your browser must be set to accept cookies and the JavaScript setting must be enabled. For help, please refer to the documentation included with your browser.

6. Why are my keywords and key phrases no longer highlighted in 990 filings and why does Adobe Reader no longer display the first instance of my keywords and key phrases?

Apparently, you've upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.0. The highlighting feature is turned off by default in this version. Here are the steps to enable it:

  1. Open up a 990 in FDO and right-click anywhere on the document
  2. Select Page Display Preferences
  3. Under Categories, select Search
  4. Click the check box for Enable search highlights from external highlight server
  5. Click the OK button
